Davies’s Learning & Development specialists have launched a new group to connect and inspire professionals working in financial services. The team has an international reputation for its expertise in talent development and driving sustained organisational performance. Their new Professional Development in Financial Services community draws on the expertise and experience of Davies’s three decades of developing cultures, individuals and teams in leading banks and financial institutions worldwide.
The Professional Development in Financial Services community is listed on LinkedIn and will host its first members’ event, an ideas-exchange session entitled Conversations about Power, Influence and Workplace Dynamics on Friday, 19 November 2021.
Pete Stone, Davies’s Chief Strategy Officer and head of the firm’s specialist Learning & Development Practice comments:
“Davies has a distinctive take on developing talent. We’re experts at drawing out the best in people and business performance. It’s a mindset. For example, we believe leadership is about behaviour, not hierarchy. We believe corporate performance is about human culture and conduct; ‘why’ not just ‘what’. We also believe that technical experts, with skills in Technology, Risk, Finance, Operations – any of the formal divisions – also need to be liberated as leaders of people and innovation. And that starts by connectivity. So it seemed natural to create a community that brings it all together.”
Community founder Davies Partner Deborah Challinor explains more.
Deborah says:
“I’ve spent my career working with people who are technically able, and who need to know how to get the best out of their firms, their teams – and themselves. It’s incredibly rewarding. But I know I’m lucky: my colleagues and I are constantly connecting themes and insights and we see how powerful that can be. We think more people could benefit from this type of connectivity – a community where we can share more of what we know, listen, learn and facilitate even more great conversations. It really is that simple.”
