Davies financial crime and compliance analyst and data scientist Irina Emelianova and team have been awarded third prize at the ImmutableX Hackathon, held in London from 11th – 12th February 2023. This is the second event Irina has participated in on a similar theme, following the APPG (all party parliamentary group) meeting on Metaverse and Web 3.0 at the House of Lords in October 2022.
The 36-hour Hackathon in February included workshops, panels and demos to build a game on ImmutableX that would exchange NFT transactions – as well as a competition, where Irina beat off stiff competition to lead her team to third place.
Irina comments:
“I learned more about so many new things useful for my future career, including blockchain, backend and frontend technologies such as Flask, Typescript and React. Exploring blockchain and its implications for fraud detection was fascinating. I was able to contribute to my team writing small pieces of python code and participating at the brainstorm sessions. I was in charge of the presentation and I was proud to share that I work for Davies. And best of all, our project was successful and we won third prize!”
