Matthew Pawlowski is a Partner at Davies. He brings more than 20 years of experience across capital markets, operations, and consulting. His expertise spans the full post‑trade lifecycle, including clearing, settlements, custody, regulatory change, and operating model transformation. Matthew has deep knowledge of both sell‑side and buy‑side environments, shaped by his time working inside global banks and his extensive consulting career. 

Matthew’s background bridges frontline operations and strategic advisory work. His experience covers the full range of traded products, from securities to derivatives. Over his time as a consultant, he has led major programmes across regulatory implementation, control remediation, system conversions, target operating model design, and business case development. His regulatory work includes extensive programmes across Dodd‑Frank, T+2, and the industry shift to T+1. He also has substantial experience with market utilities and clearing organisations, giving him a comprehensive view of market infrastructure. 

At Davies, Matthew advises clients across the Capital Markets and Financial Market Infrastructure industries, supporting organisations throughout the post-trade value chain. He focuses on regulatory developments, post-trade strategy, operational efficiency and platform modernisation. He currently leads work on Treasury clearing implementation, guiding clients through complex regulatory requirements and operating model redesign. Matthew also supports organisations in determining where to build, where to partner, and how to introduce automation and AI responsibly into post‑trade workflows.
