An apprenticeship appealed to me because I wanted to find a job where I could continue to learn. Business Administration seemed like the right fit, as it’s a great way to learn about different aspects of business.
Throughout my apprenticeship I was always impressed with the amount of support I received from my coach. In our monthly visits I would learn something new every time and they helped me every step of the way. Whether that was giving me feedback on evidence I had been gathering throughout my apprenticeship, or support at end point assessment, my coach was always there to support me.
As I could use what I was learning during work, it was easy to work and work towards my apprenticeship at the same time. The Business Administrator apprenticeship doesn’t include a professional qualification so I was able to put all of my focus on getting the evidence I needed for my knowledge, skills and behaviours. The support I received from my Line Manager throughout my apprenticeship was amazing. During my 1-2-1s we always discussed my progress with my apprenticeship, when my off-the-job hours slipped slightly they were there to offer me the support and time I needed to get back on track. Without my line manager’s support I don’t think I could have completed the apprenticeship.
Definitely do an apprenticeship if you can! It’s a great way to get a qualification as well as getting experience in a real work environment.
