Ben Wilson is a Senior Partner within Davies’ Consulting & Technology business, where he leads Specialist Services. He helps regulated organisations build and mobilise the specialist capability needed to address complex operational, regulatory and transformation challenges.
With more than 20 years’ experience in workforce solutions and professional services, Ben specialises in specialist resourcing, managed services and scalable operational delivery. Before joining Davies, he was the owner and CEO of Grovelands, a specialist professional services business that was subsequently acquired by Davies.
Ben works with banks, insurers, wealth and asset managers, regulators and other organisations operating in highly regulated markets. Clients typically engage him when facing urgent capacity constraints, specialist skills shortages, operational backlogs, cost pressures or complex remediation requirements.
His approach is direct, pragmatic and commercially focused. He helps clients clarify the underlying challenge, identify the decisions that will have the greatest impact and assess practical delivery options across team structure, governance, location, technology and commercial models. This enables leaders to understand the trade-offs, make confident decisions and move quickly into mobilisation and delivery.
Ben believes workforce solutions should deliver more than additional headcount. His focus is on combining specialist expertise, strong leadership, effective processes and technology to improve productivity, service quality and operational resilience. For Ben, success means resolving the client’s immediate challenge while creating a sustainable operation that can adapt as requirements change.
The evolving role of AI and digital workforce technology is a particular professional interest. Ben is focused on how these capabilities can enhance managed services, improve productivity and allow people to spend more time applying judgement, solving problems and building client relationships.
Outside work, Ben is a keen golfer and an active runner, competing for a local athletics club, although he readily admits that his golf is stronger than his running. Much of his spare time is spent ferrying his children between training sessions, matches and sporting events, often acting as chauffeur, supporter and occasional referee or linesman.
