Claim worth £86,000
Our forensic investigation found inconsistencies
Claim found `fundamentally dishonest` & dismissed at court
When a large UK insurer was faced with an £86,000 claim after a collision between a scooter and a Range Rover, we were instructed to investigate its legitimacy. We forensically examined one of the vehicles and identified a number of inconsistencies in the damage and the descriptions provided by both drivers.
The claimants commissioned their own forensic expert who disagreed with our expert and proposed various explanations for the inconsistencies. However, when the case ran to trial and the engineering evidence was scrutinised, the District Judge held that the claim was ‘fundamentally dishonest’ and dismissed the entire claim.
