Tell us about your role and how you got to where you are today?

I have over 30 years of insurance experience, developed from handling a diverse portfolio of claims. Over my career, I’ve developed skills to become an analytical, effective, customer-focused adjuster with a wide knowledge and experience of investigating and negotiating settlement of large property damage claims for a wide range of clients.

I’m ACII qualified, and I believe this was important to achieve knowledge of the industry, legal and technical matters.

Thanks to my experience in the industry, I feel able to overcome challenges thrown my way through a tenacious and questioning approach – drawing on wide-ranging and varied expertise.


What type of losses do you evaluate?

I work across liability and large loss property third party impact claims.


What do you find most interesting about your role?

I really enjoy the variety of dealing with a diverse portfolio of claims occurring due to different scenarios and establishing an effective method of settlement that supports our clients.


What do you see as the biggest challenge for your industry across the UK and Ireland in the next year?

Ensuring digital communication is continually being improved and updated to keep up with market expectations. We all need to take time to understand how climate change will affect the industry, and it’s really important that we understand the likely impact on claims due to the economic climate


What are three key things you’ve learned in your career? What’s your best piece of advice to someone starting out?
  • I think it’s beneficial to study for insurance qualifications, as this helps you to understand all aspects of the industry, while gaining legal and technical knowledge
  • Listen and develop good communication skills to be an effective communicator, as this will help to meet the expectations of clients and claimants
  • Develop the skills to achieve critical thinking, problem solving, a strong work ethic and professionalism.
