Davies appoints new Non-Executive Director to strengthen board as it pushes international expansion

LONDON, UK – 1 October 2020 – Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology business, today announces the appointment of Dr Nneka Abulokwe, OBE to join the firms’ Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director.

A technology, innovation and governance expert, Nneka spent her executive career spanning digital transformation, outsourcing and product delivery – including senior roles with major multinational technology organisations such as Sopra Steria, Atos and CGI.  Now a renowned public speaker on technology, digital transformation and diversity, Nneka also serves as a non-executive director at The University of Cambridge and runs her own strategic advisory firm, MicroMax Consulting.

Nneka has been recognised for a number of awards. In 2019, she was honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her Services to Business; Financial Times Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME) Top 100 Tech and Top 100 Business Executives; Finalist for the Governance Professional of the Year 2018 Award, the Governance Institute, UK & she was named in the 2019 & 2020 Powerlist 100 most influential black business leaders.  Alongside her role on Davies’ Board, Nneka will also chair the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Board.

So far this year, Davies has invested heavily in strengthening its global leadership team as it seeks to continue its expansion in to new territories and to add new expertise, including; James Heath as Group Chief Risk Officer, Jeff Chang as General Counsel and most recently Matt Button as CEO of its US Claims Solutions business.

Globally Davies has more than 4,000 colleagues, with operating centres across the UK, Ireland, Bermuda, the US and Canada.  The business delivers professional services and technology solutions across the risk and insurance value chain, including excellence in claims, underwriting, distribution, regulation, customer experience, human capital, digital transformation & change management.
