Do I need to keep damaged items for inspection?

When you are submitting a claim for damage caused to your home or your belongings we would always recommend that items are not disposed of before gaining the authority to do so by your Claims Handler or Loss Adjuster.

Will I need to provide proof of ownership?

During the course of handling your claim, we may ask for proof of ownership for the items that you are claiming for. There are many different ways of proving ownership of individual items and your Claims Handler or loss Adjuster will be able to help you with this.

How long will my claim take?

Davies Group handles claims of significantly different values and levels of complexity. This means that it is very difficult to tell you at the start of a claim how long it will take. We do our best to keep you informed throughout the claims process so that you know how your claim is progressing.

What is my policy excess?

Virtually all claims are subject to a policy excess which is payable each time that you make a claim. Depending on the type of claim that you have submitted, we will either deduct the policy excess amount from any settlement or ask you to pay the policy excess amount to us before the claim proceeds.

How long do you hold on to information about me?

Davies Group has a strict data retention policy. We only hold relevant data in line with GDPR and all data is held securely. Data used by Davies Group includes emails, hard copy documents, soft copy documents, video and audio, data generated by physical access control systems and mainframe data.

What happens if I am a vulnerable customer?

All Davies Group Claims staff receive training to help them identify vulnerable Customers so that we can take extra steps to make sure that we provide support and assistance as required. If you feel that you are vulnerable and are comfortable in doing so then please make your Claims Handler or Loss Adjuster aware.
