Background

Late last year, a major client suffered a severe spillage incident that affected 16 residential properties. The majority of these properties sustained damaged to their contents and gardens, with several vehicles also damaged beyond repair.

How we helped

Due to the urgency of the situation, our adjusters and a Davies Motor Engineer were deployed to the site within hours of the incident. Their primary objective was to support the client’s network operations team and work alongside their preferred remediation contractor. Our team remained on-site for several days, providing assistance to the impacted residents and ensuring an organised and effective response.

As well as the immediate assistance, our adjusters took swift action to facilitate compensation packages to cover all affected losses. The residents in three of the impacted properties required emergency and long-term accommodation solutions due to the extent of the damage. The adjuster team coordinated these arrangements together with our Accommodation Bureau to ensure the residents were provided with suitable living conditions whilst their homes were undergoing the necessary repairs.

Outcome

Within just three months of the incident, all of the vacated properties were fully repaired, and safe for the customers to return. Our team was able to balance the use of swift and effective solutions, while still providing the necessary care and compassion to the affected customers. One customer expressed their gratitude in an email, saying:

“I just wanted to show my appreciation for the support and compassion you and your team have shown since the(incident). You made the situation much more bearable, and I can’t thank you enough. Thank you so much for the support and helping us through the process.”
