Background

Having already deployed intelligent automation solutions in other departments, Caerphilly Council contracted Davies to assess how process automation could better support social care service users and workers. The primary objective was to improve vital services to people in need while freeing the human workforce to concentrate on the softer skills that most needed their attention.

Results

Deploying a virtual workforce, Davies and Caerphilly Council have been able to save the social care team in excess of 5,720 working hours annually. That’s the equivalent of three full-time employees. The digital transformation was onboarded rapidly, the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic when demand for social support was at its highest. By removing the need for additional employees, the council has saved£138,000 per year.
